Neophytes
In this exhibition, Eden explores gender transition and liminality through a deeply personal, contemporary, and local lens. Using a large-format camera, Eden captures portraits that emphasize the vital necessity of connection when navigating the journey of untying traditional social bonds.
Complementing these portraits is a series of abstract works created through a visceral, analog process. By applying testosterone gel directly to photographic paper during light exposure, Eden translates the biological reality of transition into a visual form. Together, these two bodies of work examine the intersections of identity, chemistry, and the shifting self.
